PetroChina has inked a contract to purchase fuel oil from PetrĂ³leos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA), according to media reports.

Under the oil trading contract, the Chinese energy firm will buy 100,000 barrels of fuel oil per day from PDVSA over the next three years.

The president of PetroChina, Wang Dong, is cited as saying that the company's oil trading volume with Venezuela will reach 790,000 barrels per day in 2014, adding that the new contract would further strengthen PetroChina's oil and gas operations in the Americas and enhance its participation in the international oil and gas market.
