A court in Malta has ordered a vessel registered in Panama to pay €617,279 to a financial institution and four local supply firms, including three bunker companies, the Malta Independent reports.

The ship A Ladybug, owned by the company A Ladybug Corporation, was brought to court by Macquire Bank Ltd., Salvo Grima & Sons Ltd. and bunker firms San Lucian Oil Company Ltd., Island Bunker Oils Ltd. and Cassar Petroleum Services Ltd.

Macquire Bank said it had paid €70,362 for unpaid work carried out by 12 seamen aboard the vessel, and that it had also paid €123,435 to the Transport Authority, €74,950 for the ship to anchor in Malta and €48,485 for the provision of emergency bunker fuel.

The other four local companies also requested payment for fuel and water supplied to the ship.

Judge Mark Chetcuti ordered the vessel to pay the amounts requested.
