Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore (BV) and Shenzhen Port Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement on 29 June, with the stated aim of advancing green shipping corridor (GSC) development and reducing carbon emissions from maritime trade.

Under the agreement, signed in Shenzhen, China, the two organisations are to pool resources and capabilities to develop green shipping projects, with the stated goal of producing outcomes that can be replicated and scaled across the industry. The partnership is also intended to help position Shenzhen as a global green maritime hub.

BV says it will provide technical support to Shenzhen Port Group and other industry players, helping them interpret evolving maritime regulatory frameworks and translate international rules into practical measures.
