TMD Energy Limited has announced a two-year extension of its memorandum of agreement (MOA) with Malaysian bioenergy firm Double Corporate Sdn Bhd, as the two companies continue to explore a potential collaboration on sustainable bioenergy fuel solutions.

The MOA, initially signed on 18 June 2025, establishes a framework for the proposed collaboration targeting both EU and Asian markets. The original one-year agreement has now been extended by a further two years from its current expiry date, with all original terms and conditions remaining in place.

According to TMD Energy, the extension grants both parties additional time to evaluate the proposed collaboration, explore potential participation in Malaysia and global markets under a two-year exclusivity period, and negotiate towards the execution of definitive agreements.

Double Corporate, established in 2006, claims to convert waste materials — including palm oil mill effluent, empty fruit bunches, used cooking oil and other industrial waste oils — into certified biofuels using proprietary technology that holds ISCC-EU approval. The company says its refining process achieves a 1:1 conversion ratio and produces feedstocks for sustainable marine fuel (SMF) and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

TMD Energy, which is based in Malaysia and Singapore, is principally engaged in integrated bunkering services, including ship-to-ship transfer of marine fuels, ship management services and vessel chartering. The company currently operates across 19 ports in Malaysia with a fleet of 15 bunkering vessels, supplying marine fuel to ships.
