Cargill is recruiting for a marine fuels sourcing position based in Houston, Texas, to oversee bunker procurement and delivery operations across global regions.
The role, advertised on LinkedIn, sits within Cargill's agriculture and trading enterprise, which connects producers and users of grains and oilseeds through origination, trading, processing and distribution activities.
According to the job posting, the position involves supervising and coordinating bunker supply for internal and external clients, supporting procurement, nomination and delivery processes. The role holder will liaise with vessel operators, port authorities, agents, suppliers and surveyors.
Responsibilities include overseeing marine fuel purchasing and delivery execution, including quality testing and surveyor arrangements. The position also involves training team members and maintaining communications across regions, teams, customers and stakeholders.
The role requires monitoring performance metrics for the region and consumption efficiency, as well as supporting the resolution of claims or disputes related to fuel supply.
Market intelligence gathering and supplier performance tracking are also part of the position, aimed at supporting trading decisions and strategic sourcing activities.
Cargill is seeking candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a diploma in maritime studies preferred. The minimum requirement is four years of related work experience, though the company states a preference for candidates with six or more years of bunker trading experience, including marine fuel procurement and commercial negotiation.
The position requires candidates who can manage multiple deals, stakeholders and timelines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
