Cosco Shipping has taken delivery of a 64,900-deadweight-tonne Panamax crude oil tanker named Yu Neng Jiao Long.

The vessel has an overall length of 224.9 m, a beam of 38 m, a depth of 18 m, and a design draught of 11.2 m. With a design speed of 14.0 knots. It is capable of global voyages and suited for crude oil transport routes from the sea to inland waterways, the shipping firm noted.

The tanker is capable of dual-fuel operation using heavy fuel oil (HFO) and marine gas oil (MGO). The exhaust systems of the main engines and generators are equipped with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems, ensuring emissions comply with the International Maritime Organization’s Tier III nitrogen oxide emission standards.

Yu Neng Jiao Long is said to comply with specifications from the International Association of Oil Tanker Owners (OCIMF) and ExxonMobil, as well as EU regulations regarding the control of hazardous substances.

The vessel has obtained the methanol pre-designation MFR (m,P), and its Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) meets Phase III requirements. It is equipped with smart ship systems and equipment, and has obtained the China Classification Society (CCS) Cyber Security (P[SL0]) notation, complying with IACS UR E26 requirements, Cosco Shipping stated.
