CMA CGM has held a naming ceremony for CMA CGM D’Artagnan, the latest methanol-powered container ship to join the French group’s fleet.
The Marseille-based carrier said the new addition forms part of its growing methanol-fuelled line-up and supports its Net Zero Carbon 2050 commitment.
In its announcement, CMA CGM described the naming as another step in the evolution of maritime transport and pointed to the practical implications of methanol adoption, including changes in operations and the challenges still ahead.
Recently, CMA CGM also named the 15,000-teu methanol-powered CMA CGM Esmeralda, which entered service on the REX2 route.
