Hercules Tanker Management (HTM) has deployed its second Ultra-Spec Series vessel to the Strait of Gibraltar, according to a company announcement.
HTM Elisabeth is the second of 10 hybrid-ready, 7,700-dwt tankers being introduced under the shipowner’s long-term fleet renewal strategy. The newbuildings are intended to replace older, less efficient tonnage while strengthening performance across global operations.
HTM noted that the Ultra-Spec Series features diesel-electric propulsion, battery-ready systems and advanced hull optimisation. The tankers are designed to transport and supply conventional bunkers as well as alternative fuels up to B100 biofuel and methanol.
On its maiden voyage, HTM Elisabeth loaded a cargo of biofuel in Thailand for delivery in Barcelona, where it will support Peninsula’s fuel supply operations.
The deployment also highlights the series’ ability to serve cleaner fuel supply chains across major shipping regions.
