Avenir LNG has completed the first ship-to-ship (STS) LNG bunkering operation for a ferry in the Port of Klaipėda.

On 29 March 2026, the company’s vessel Avenir Ascension supplied LNG to the dual-fuel ro-pax ferry Peter Pan, which is owned and operated by TT-Line. According to Avenir LNG, this was also the first STS LNG bunkering operation for a ferry in Lithuania.

Avenir said it has worked with TT-Line for several years, supplying LNG and bio-LNG across ports in Sweden and Germany. The operation in Klaipėda extends that cooperation into the Baltic region.

The company added that the development helps strengthen the security of supply for alternative marine fuels in the Baltic. It also noted that the milestone builds on more than 50 LNG bunkering and transport operations it has already carried out in Klaipėda in recent years.

Avenir LNG thanked TT-Line and the other parties involved in the operation for their continued cooperation.

The dual-fuel ferry Peter Pan is part of TT-Line’s fleet, which operates ro-pax services in the Baltic Sea region.
