OceanScore adds vessel activation controls for EU ETS and FuelEU compliance workflows

Software provider introduces a feature allowing third-party managers to toggle vessel compliance status while preserving historical data.

Maritime compliance software provider OceanScore has introduced a new function giving third-party ship managers greater control over when individual vessels are included in the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) and FuelEU Maritime compliance workflows.

According to the company, its Compliance Manager platform now allows vessels to be marked active or inactive for EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime at any time, while preserving historical data.

OceanScore explained that the change is intended to reflect the realities of fleet management, where not every ship under management is relevant for European compliance every year. Some vessels may not trade to Europe at all, while others may enter or leave management part way through a compliance period.

The company said the update means automated statements and invoices will only be generated where regulatory exposure actually exists, in line with management contracts, trading patterns and responsibility periods.

OceanScore added that the feature is designed to better align with how third-party fleet management works in practice.
