Maersk has highlighted a partnership with the Lego Group spanning more than 50 years by staging an exhibition at its headquarters in Copenhagen featuring Lego releases dating back to 1974.
The display was organised to coincide with the launch of the latest model in the series, the dual-fuel container vessel Ane Maersk, which is now available through Lego sales channels.
Maersk noted that the exhibition brings together all earlier sets released during the collaboration, which began in 1974. The shipper shared details of the display and the newest set in a social media post.
The Ane Maersk model is the latest in a long-running line of maritime-themed Lego products created through the partnership between the Danish shipping group and the toymaker.
Maersk’s fleet includes vessels capable of operating on alternative fuels as part of its wider efforts to support lower-carbon shipping. The company has been adding dual-fuel ships that can run on both conventional marine fuels and alternative fuel options.
