Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM) has added a second methanol dual-fuel bulk carrier to its managed fleet, the company announced on 14 March.
The vessel joins a sister ship already under BSM’s management, expanding the company’s portfolio of vessels capable of operating on alternative fuels.
“Milestones matter, especially when they move our industry towards a greener future,” the company said in the announcement.
BSM also thanked its customers for their continued support and acknowledged the work of its shore-based and seagoing teams that manage the vessels.
Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement provides technical and crew management services to shipowners across a range of vessel segments worldwide.
Back in October, the company introduced specialised training programmes at its Maritime Training Centres designed to prepare crews for the safe operation of methanol-powered vessels. The courses combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience, including simulator exercises, advanced firefighting techniques, and safety procedures tailored to methanol operations.
BSM also announced in Q4 2025 that it would providing technical management for what is set to be the world's first ammonia bunkering vessel. The 5,000-cbm capacity vessel is scheduled for delivery in 2027 and is to be deployed in Singapore.
