Hercules Tanker Management (HTM) has taken delivery of its second Ultra-Spec Series vessel in China, continuing the company’s fleet renewal programme focused on future-ready tonnage.
Hercules Elisabeth is the second of 10 hybrid-ready tankers being introduced for worldwide operations. Each vessel in the series has a deadweight tonnage (DWT) of 7,700 tonnes and is designed to transport and supply all grades of conventional bunker fuels, as well as alternative fuels such as biodiesel blends up to B100 and methanol.
HTM noted that the Ultra-Spec Series is intended to replace ageing, less efficient vessels with higher-performance tonnage built to improve operational standards. Key features across the fleet include diesel-electric propulsion, battery-ready systems and optimised hull designs aimed at boosting efficiency while reducing emissions.
The company said the vessels are engineered to meet both current fuel requirements and the ongoing shift towards lower-carbon and alternative fuels.
Further deliveries from the 10-ship series are scheduled at regular intervals through 2027. HTM said each new vessel supports its long-term sustainability targets, including an ambition to reach 10% alternative fuel consumption across its fleet by 2030.
The company describes the series as part of its fleet renewal programme focused on future-ready tonnage.
Headquartered in Dubai, HTM is the private shipping company of John Bassadone, CEO and founder of bunker supplier and trader Peninsula.
