Trailing 12-month (TTM) bunker sales at the Port of Singapore rose to a new record of 57.51 million metric tonnes (MT) in January 2026, marking the first time rolling annual volumes have exceeded the 57.5 million-tonne threshold. The figures are based on data processed from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).
The latest reading represents a month-on-month increase of 739,156 MT, or 1.30%, compared with December 2025. The January gain followed a strong close to 2025, when TTM volumes had already climbed to a then-record 56.77 million tonnes.
The new rolling 12-month high comes after a landmark calendar year for Singapore’s bunker market. In December 2025, full-year bunker sales reached an all-time record (56.77 million tonnes), providing a strong base for the subsequent rise in rolling volumes at the start of 2026.
Shorter-term indicators also point to strengthening demand. Trailing three-month (T3M) bunker sales rose to 15.56 million tonnes in January 2026, up 2.70% from December, setting a new record for the series. The T3M milestone reflects an acceleration in recent bunkering activity, reinforcing the strength seen in the longer-term TTM data.
Together, the simultaneous records in both TTM and T3M measures indicate that growth in bunker sales is being driven by sustained structural demand as well as strong near-term momentum. The combination suggests that the latest peak is underpinned by broad-based market conditions rather than isolated monthly fluctuations.
