H2SITE will present its ammonia cracking technology at a seminar organized by Maritime CleanTech in Bergen on 3 February, the company announced on 29 January.
The Spanish technology provider will showcase its system for producing high-purity hydrogen from ammonia in both onboard and port environments during the event, which brings together shipowners, technology providers, ports, and energy stakeholders.
Eduardo Briales Palacios, product manager at H2SITE, and Tomás Crespo, maritime business developer, will deliver a presentation titled 'One Solution, Two Environments — Versatile Ammonia Cracking for Onboard and Port Operation.'
The session will focus on how the company's technology enables on-demand hydrogen production from ammonia, according to the announcement.
Maritime CleanTech is a Norwegian cluster organization that facilitates innovation and collaboration across the maritime value chain.
The Bergen seminar aims to explore pathways toward low- and zero-emission shipping, with ammonia bunkering emerging as one potential option for maritime decarbonization. As ammonia gains attention as a carbon-free energy carrier, developing bunkering and conversion solutions is becoming a focus area for the industry.
H2SITE's ammonia cracking technology is designed to provide flexibility for maritime operations by enabling hydrogen production in different locations within the fuel supply chain.
The company stated it looks forward to contributing to discussions on turning ammonia-to-power concepts into deployable maritime solutions.
