Keel laid for LNG dual-fuel crude oil tanker in China

Ceremony held on 23 December for LNG-capable tanker under Lloyd’s Register class.

The keel has been laid for a 155,500-dwt LNG dual-fuel crude oil tanker at its shipyard in China, marking the formal start of construction.

The keel laying ceremony for the vessel, identified by builder’s hull number 0315871, took place on 23 December.

The tanker is being built for Ermis Crude Carrier S.A. c/o Capital Ship Management Corp. and is designed to operate on both conventional marine fuels and LNG.

Representatives from the shipyard, the Capital Ship Management site team and classification society Lloyd’s Register attended the event.
