Ocean Network Express (ONE) has held a naming ceremony for ONE Satisfaction, the sixth vessel in its “S” series, at an event in Japan on 19 December.

The 13,800-teu container ship has been designed with methanol- and ammonia-ready capability and is scheduled to begin sea trials ahead of delivery in February 2026, according to the company.

ONE said the vessel’s name reflects its emphasis on customer satisfaction, adding that the “S” series forms part of its broader fleet renewal programme focused on service reliability and long-term operational flexibility.

The “S” series comprises vessels prepared for the potential use of alternative marine fuels, as container lines assess pathways to reduce CO₂ emissions and comply with tightening environmental regulations.

While described as methanol- and ammonia-ready, such vessels typically enter service operating on conventional marine fuels, with conversion dependent on fuel availability and infrastructure development.

With the addition of ONE Satisfaction, ONE continues to expand its container fleet with newbuilds designed to accommodate future fuel transitions while maintaining capacity on core trade lanes.
