Glencore has signed an agreement to acquire a majority shareholding in FincoEnergies, the supplier of low-carbon transportation fuels and carbon credit solutions.

The transaction will see Glencore partner with Coloured Finches, the current majority shareholder and founder of FincoEnergies. The deal is subject to EU anti-trust approval and is expected to complete during the second quarter of 2026, FincoEnergies announced on 22 December.

Pontex Investment Partners will step down as shareholder upon completion of the transaction. Pontex joined Coloured Finches as a minority shareholder in FincoEnergies in 2016.

The partnership between Glencore and Coloured Finches is said to position FincoEnergies to expand in renewable fuel markets, insetting credits, and decarbonisation solutions across transport segments, as well as increase its physical market presence in new geographical markets in Northwest Europe.

Rotterdam-based FincoEnergies operates as an independent supplier of biofuels and decarbonisation services for transport and industry. It has a presence in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp region and maintains offices in the Netherlands, Germany, and Switzerland.

FincoEnergies is the parent company of biofuel bunker supplier GoodFuels and carbon insetting specialist GoodShipping. GoodFuels carries out bunker deliveries in the Netherlands.

Glencore is a leading commodity trading and mining company with its main bunkering activities centred on Singapore, Australia, New York, Los Angeles and Long Beach, US Gulf, and Panama. Coloured Finches is a Dutch energy investment company that invests in downstream fuel markets, including biofuels.
