Avenir LNG has secured a USD 128 million pre- and post-delivery financing package to support the construction of two LNG bunkering newbuildings, according to an announcement from Fearnley Securities.

The Norwegian investment bank acted as financial advisor on the transaction, which was announced on December 2.

Fearnley Securities said it was "proud to have acted as financial advisor in the transaction" and extended gratitude to Avenir LNG for the cooperation.

The financing structure covers both the construction phase and the period following vessel delivery, a common approach in shipbuilding that provides owners with stable liquidity throughout the build cycle. While the announcement did not disclose further details on the lenders involved or the delivery timelines, the funding will support the energy supplier’s continued fleet expansion.

Avenir LNG has a fleet of vessels that provide LNG bunkering services serving ports in northern Europe, the Mediterranean and Jamaica. Earlier this year, Stolt-Nielsen Gas gained full control of the business by purchasing all shares held by Golar LNG and Aequitas.
