Dubai-based marine fuels trader Flex Commodities DMCC has appointed April Tan as lead trader for China, based in its Singapore office.
Ms. Tan brings more than 15 years of experience in marine fuel trading, sales, and business development, with expertise across the China and Singapore marine fuels sectors. Previous employers include PetroChina International, China Merchant Energy Trading (Singapore) and Sinopec Fuel Oil Singapore.
The company noted that Ms. Tan had managed end-to-end trading portfolios, developed sourcing and sales strategies, and previously driven commercial growth across regional accounts. Her experience also includes marine lubricants trading, bunker cargo trading and swaps trading of fuel oil, crude oil and gasoil.
Flex Commodities, which is headquartered in Dubai, specializes in marine fuels and cargo logistics. Launched in 2024, the company operates under the leadership of Managing Partner and Founder Rakesh Sharma and has been expanding its team in recent months with several trader appointments at its Dubai office, as well as new hires in Greece and Singapore.
