Liverpool-based Standard Fuel Oils has been included in the Financial Times Europe's Long-Term Growth Champions 2026 report.

The ranking, compiled in collaboration with research company Statista, identifies the top 300 companies in Europe that have achieved the highest percentage growth in revenues between 2014 and 2024.

Standard Fuel Oils is an independently owned, family-run supplier based in Liverpool that delivers marine fuels and lubricants, heating oil, and other petroleum products across the North West of England, North Wales, and nationwide.

The company has pursued a growth strategy through acquisitions in recent years. In November 2023, Standard Fuel Oils acquired Liverpool-based bunker trader River Marine Fuels.

To be eligible for the Europe's Long-Term Growth Champions 2026 ranking, companies must have demonstrated sustained growth in Europe between 2014 and 2024, with minimum revenues of €100,000 in 2014 and over €10 million in 2024.

The full ranking — published online on October 29, with a printed edition scheduled for November 12 — lists Standard Fuel Oils in 114th place, with revenue growing from €18.15m to €271.48m between 2014 and 2024, and a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 31.71%. Top of the ranking is Finnish EV charging software business Virta Global with a CAGR of 87.44%.
