TFG Marine has called for mass flow meter systems being introduced at the Ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp to align fully with ISO 22192 standards when they are implemented from January 2026.

Speaking at the ARACON 2025 conference in Rotterdam this week, Chia How Khee, Global Fleet Manager at TFG Marine, said the introduction of the systems represented "a positive and much-welcomed step forward for Europe's main bunkering hubs" but emphasised the importance of consistent implementation.

"We believe that it is essential that the mass flow meter systems being introduced at the Ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp from January 2026 are fully aligned with ISO 22192 standards and implemented with consistency and rigour," Khee said during the 'Evolution of the ARA Bunker Market' panel.

The executive pointed to other ports that have already adopted the standard, noting: "Ports such as Sohar, Ceuta and Singapore have already demonstrated the value of applying this standard, achieving improved accuracy, transparency and trust in bunker delivery measurement."

According to TFG Marine, the company has observed benefits from ISO 22192 implementation across multiple locations where it operates. "As a supplier active across these locations, we at TFG Marine see first-hand the benefits of ISO 22192 implementation in driving digitalisation and strengthening integrity across the global bunkering supply chain," Khee remarked.

The company welcomed the ARA region's proposed measures as "a constructive step towards greater transparency" while noting that success would depend on implementation consistency.

TFG Marine said it looked forward to the January 2026 introduction and continuing collaboration with industry partners to strengthen alignment across the global bunkering market.
