VPS claims its Maress software platform helped more than 300 vessels achieve significant fuel consumption reductions during a three-month campaign that concluded in August.
The decarbonisation initiative, which ran from June to August, involved vessels from 12 shipping companies testing operational strategies aimed at improving efficiency without compromising safety, according to VPS.
The company said the participating fleet saved approximately 12,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions over the three-month period, with vessels improving their efficiency by more than 10% on average.
VPS described the campaign as offering crews "the opportunity and freedom" to trial new strategies, measure outcomes, and push performance to new levels.
Four vessels were recognised as top performers across different categories: Domingue Tide (AHTS) operated by Tidewater, Volantis (CSV) from Havila Subsea & Renewables, Springer Tide (PSV) operated by Tidewater, and Stril Poseidon from Simon Møkster Shipping.
The campaign marked VPS's third annual efficiency drive, with the company stating it demonstrated "what is possible when the industry collaborates, shares experience, and turns ideas into measurable results."
Participating companies included Boskalis, BP, Havila Shipping, Havila Subsea & Renewables, Island Offshore, North Sea Shipping, Rem Offshore, Sanco Shipping, Simon Møkster Shipping, Skansi Offshore, Solstad, and Tidewater.
