Saudi Royal Family-backed marine fuel trader Eleven Energy has opened a Rotterdam office and appointed two industry professionals to strengthen its European operations.
The company said Gert Nell and Yolanda Nell will join its newly established Netherlands office on October 1, marking what it describes as another step in its expansion strategy.
The appointments follow the launch of Eleven Energy earlier this summer by His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Bin Talal Al Saud, with Chris Todd leading the company.
Both appointees have held senior roles over the past two decades at companies including Bominflot, GP Global, and most recently Hanseatic Bunker Services.
Chris Todd, Head of Global Trading at Eleven Energy, said: "I couldn't be more proud to welcome Gert and Yolanda to Eleven Energy. Bringing them on board from day one sets the tone and demonstrates the level at which our company will operate. Having worked with them previously, I know firsthand what outstanding professionals they are, both in terms of their commitment to clients and suppliers. Furthermore, their unwavering integrity underpins the values of Eleven Energy and what we stand for."
Todd added: "The new Rotterdam office will significantly strengthen our capabilities and position us for the ambitious growth we envision. October 1, 2025, can't come quick enough."
The company said the Rotterdam office opening represents the beginning of further expansion plans, with additional signings and new office openings to be announced in the coming weeks and months as it builds its global network in the energy and marine fuels sector.
In terms of sales volume, Rotterdam is Europe's largest bunkering port with trailing 12-month (TTM) bunker sales — excluding marine lubricants — of 9.86 million tonnes in the year to June 2025, according to port data processed by Bunker Index.
