Commentary Date
"US Gulf Coast bunker fuel prices continued falling for the sixth consecutive trading session due to the weakening Brent crude and fuel oil, ample supplies and weak demand. Houston IFO 380cst and IFO 380cst 1% were down $10 from Monday. The movement widened the hi-lo spread in Houston to $91/mt, the lowest since July, 2013." Source: OW Bunker. 2014-10-16 11:23:57 GMT
"Bunker markets at most US and Canadian ports plunged Wednesday as the Brent crude futures contract fell to a 28-month low. On the US Gulf Coast, Houston bunker fuel prices dropped as a result of fierce supplier competition and a fall in Brent crude and fuel oil values. IFO 380cst and IFO 380cst 1% were offered at $510/mt and $563/mt, a fall of $14 and $7, respectively." Source: OW Bunker 2014-10-09 09:55:52 GMT
"Bunker markets at US and Canadian ports fell sharply Wednesday as the ICE Brent crude contract fell to its lowest point in 27 months. On the physical side, 'light' demand continued for high sulfur bunkers; while markets were well supplied. On the US Gulf Coast, high sulfur bunker fuel prices edged down in line with a weakening Brent. IFO 380cst in Houston was offered at $537/mt, down $13.50/mt from Monday- the lowest since January 28, 2011, when it was assessed at $525/mt. In the marine gasoil segment, Houston MGO was assessed $16/mt down at $873 MTW, following a decline on NYMEX November ULSD futures contract." Source: OW Bunker 2014-10-02 12:12:11 GMT
"In the US the Gulf Coast bunker fuel price face drops as a consequence of low demand and ample supplies. Based on lower fuel oil prices IFO 380 CST Houston were fixed at the $560 MTW levels, down $6 from Tuesday. In New Orleans high sulphur bunker fuel prices was fixed below $565 MTW as weak demand fundamentals keep the suppliers hungry." Source: OW Bunker. 2014-09-11 10:00:15 GMT
"Volatility set the tone on Wednesday for the Gulf Coast bunker fuel oil markets: ex-wharf 380cst product in Houston was offered at $580/mt; while the same grade in New Orleans was traded at around $590/mt. LSFO prices remained on the higher side supported by tight prompt avails and delays at loadings. Offshore delivered price for 380HSFO was traded around $590/mt at Southwest Pass; which continues to be buyers' most economical option to lift bunkers. Despite the heavy residual market activity, traders had a relatively quiet day in New Orleans and Houston." Source: OW Bunker. 2014-09-04 10:19:17 GMT
"Bunker fuel prices in the US were mixed Wednesday amid sluggish demand. In the Gulf Coast, Houston IFO 380 CST and IFO 380 CST 1%S were traded $7.0-5.0 higher to $570/mt ex-wharf and $625/mt ex-wharf respectively." Source: OW Bunker. 2014-08-28 09:57:26 GMT
"Bunker prices in Houston were mixed Wednesday, amid ample supplies and low demand. HSFO380 was offered at $575/mt ex-wharf and at $625/mt ex-wharf for low sulfur grades. It is very clear that buying interest is very slow, with few inquiries seen in the market. Based on price indications, Houston IFO 380 CST was $3/mt higher at the end of the day, which narrowed the spread between Houston high sulfur bunker fuel and the same product in Panama to $11/mt. That is the lowest level in the last four trading sessions." Source: OW Bunker. 2014-08-21 10:03:26 GMT
"This week ample supplies and low demand prevailed in the US Gulf Coast. Both suppliers and traders agree that this summer has been brutally slow in the overall US bunker market. Following Brent crude, Houstonís price for high and low sulfur bunker fuel grades were fixed at $590/mt ex-wharf and $635/mt, respectively. In New Orleans, suppliers report decent demand and good product avails. Offers for IFO 380 CST grades were seen at $595-600/mt. In the low sulfur segments offers were at around $660-$665/mt." Source: OW Bunker. 2014-07-24 12:33:13 GMT
"Bunker fuel price moves were mixed Wednesday across US as a result of higher offer prices in some markets and weaker demand in the others. On the third consecutive day of a low market, Houstonís levels were at $585/mt only a $3 discount against New Orleans. Demand has increased in July, after a big drop in June however the change has not been significant yet." Source: OW Bunker. 2014-07-10 10:09:14 GMT
"For the third consecutive day, in the first week of July, overall market was falling down while demand was picking up in Panama and New Orleans. With the same pace, high and low sulfur bunker fuel prices in Houston edged down amid sluggish buying interest. In Houston (the US Gulf Coast) indications for high sulfur bunker fuel grades were seen at around $600- 604/mt; while deals were done at around $600/mt ex-wharf."
