Colombian firm completes first month as supplier

Bunker firm selling all major grades of fuel at a number of Colombian ports.



Bunker supplier firm C.I. Pacific Fuels International has completed its first month of supply activities in the Colombian bunker market.

Last month, Pacific Fuels began selling marine fuels at a number of ports thoughout Colombia including Cartagena, Barranquilla, Santa Marta and Coveñas.

Commenting on its supply capabilities yesterday, the company said: "We are able to deliver our product at the Cartagena Bay, SPRC (Sociedad Portuaria Regional de Cartagena), Contecar, and through our vessel anchored in Cartagena at Santa Marta, Barranquilla and Coveñas."

The company stated that it has access to the tanker vessel Pacific Sun,, which has the capacity to store up to 8,000 tonnes of bunker fuel, including intermediate fuel oil (IFO) 380, IFO 180 and marine diesel oil (MDO). According to Pacific Fuels, all products meet ISO 8217: 2010 industry standards.

Canada-based energy company Pacific Rubiales originally announced plans to invest in a new Colombian bunkering venture towards the end of last year.

It was later announced that C.I. Pacific Fuels International had been established through its wholly owned subsidiary Petro Rubiales Corp..
