Fuel oil storage at new Vietnam terminal

Commercial operations planned for 2012 at new oil facility in southern Vietnam.

State-owned Vietnam National Petroleum Import Export Corp. (Petrolimex) is reportedly planning to begin commercial operations of its bonded oil terminal at the port of Van Phong - located north of Nha Trang in the southern province of Khanh Hoa, Vietnam - in 2012.

Speaking to Bloomberg, Henry Yau Win Onn, project manager at Petrolimex Singapore Ltd., said that the new facility is due to be commissioned in April.

The terminal will comprise of 29 tanks and have the capacity to store up to 150,000 metric tonnes of fuel oil, 230,000 cubic metres of gasoil and 125,000 cubic meters of gasoline.

According to the company, the facility will also have four jetties and be able to accommodate vessels with displacement of as much as 150,000 metric tonnes.
