Gas4Sea partners Engie, Mitsubishi Corporation and NYK Line have been selected by Norwegian energy group Statoil to supply LNG marine fuel for four crude shuttle tankers in the port of Rotterdam, Netherlands.

The four dual-fuel vessels are due to enter into service in early 2020, when they will be operated by Statoil in north European waters.

Gas4Sea will supply LNG using the dedicated bunker vessel Engie Zeebrugge, which regularly performs ship-to-ship LNG bunkering services in the port of Zeebrugge, Belgium, where it uses Fluxys' recently completed second jetty to load product.

The Engie Zeebrugge is the world's first purpose-built LNG bunkering vessel. It has the capacity to hold up to 5,000 cubic metres.

Last September, Engie, Mitsubishi and NYK launched the Gas4Sea brand name for their joint LNG bunkering business. It was the result of a framework agreement signed by the three companies back in 2014 to form a partnership to provide LNG bunkering services.
