This market is point blank refusing to rise above $52.50, let alone $55 and $60 per bbl. Even all 7 kingdoms of bulls cannot seem to let this market shift out of the range. Let's be honest, Hurricane Harvey (parking the devastating affect it has had on the USGC for a moment) was the one thing that came out of nowhere that should have really shaken the market up and put it back on track for a sustained, aggressive rally. Alas, this wasn't the case. Granted, EIA data on Thursday will more than likely show builds on crude and draws on products, but it seems that the weather is abating and the effects may not be as bad (on the refining sector) as first envisioned. The rig count was flat last week but there were gains on the gas sector.

Economic Data/Events: (UK times)

* U.S., Canada Labor Day public holidays

** WTI and other CME energy contracts halt at 6pm Tuesday, reopen 11am

** Brent crude and other ICE Futures Europe contracts close early at 6:30pm Tuesday

* 6pm: Baker Hughes weekly U.S. oil, gas rig counts

* Bloomberg weekly roundups on tanker tracking and global fuels
