Bomin announces closure of Hong Kong office

28 Aug 2017 11:41 GMT

Operations in Shanghai, Tokyo and Nakhodka to be reviewed as part of Singapore hub strategy.

Bomin announced the closure of its office in Hong Kong on Monday.

As a result of the closure, Bomin said customers will now be served from its hub in Singapore.

Additionally, Bomin said Hong Kong's representative offices in Shanghai, Tokyo and Nakhodka "will also be affected by the change" and operations there will be reviewed in the course of the reorganization.

In a statement, the bunker firm explained: "The implementation of Bomin's hub strategy allows global alignment with its customers. Bomin wants to provide its customers a solution-driven fuel supply and operational efficiency which will ultimately increase the value of its services."

Thomas Roller, Managing Director, Bomin Group, remarked: "Following the introduction of our regional hubs [in] Hamburg, Houston, Dubai and Singapore to the market in December 2016, we now take the next consistent step by strengthening the Asian hub in Singapore.

"All hubs have proven to ensure consistency in our service quality and delivery, resulting in a very high percentage of customer retention in the new set-up and account management approach.

"The assignment of accounts to the hub in Singapore is a strategic move to further improve our operational efficiency."
