17 Aug 2017 14:38 GMT

Mikkel Kannegaard to begin his new role in November.

Monjasa has announced that it has appointed Mikkel Kannegaard to serve as General Manager, Monjasa Europe, at its office in Copenhagen from November.

Kannegaard will be joining Monjasa from his current position as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) for the India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA) region at logistics company Damco - part of A.P. Moller - Maersk.

Currently located in the UAE, Kannegaard will first of all be based at Monjasa's Dubai office before moving to Denmark later this year.

Commenting on Kannegaard's role at the firm, Monjasa explained: "His main assignments will be to strengthen business development activities and deepen partnerships and personal relations across Monjasa's Northern Europe operations."

Svend Stenberg Molholt, Interim Managing Director for Monjasa Europe, remarked: "We are extremely proud to attract Mikkel Kannegaard, who will play an integral part of Monjasa's future, starting with the enhancement of our business from our Copenhagen office. Mikkel brings relevant experience from the shipping industry and from several different leadership positions, most recently in the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group. In addition to his vast experience, Mikkel has a personality that embodies the Monjasa values and our desire to always make our business personal. This combination gives us a very positive outlook on his development in and with Monjasa."

Monjasa's future General Manager for Europe said: "I am very excited to join Monjasa, the team in Copenhagen, and being part of Monjasa's global presence. By leveraging and building on Monjasa's current value propositions across all offices, I believe there is further value to unlock at the benefit of both Monjasa and its customers. Monjasa's scale and agility allows for a flexibility and execution focus that motivates me."

Kannegaard holds a Diploma in business administration from Copenhagen Business School and a leadership degree from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.

He has held a number of positions within the A.P Moller-Maersk Group, including Manager at Maersk Logistics in China, Personal Assistant to Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller in Denmark, and Chief Operating Officer at Damco in Dubai.
