Praxis and Glander file bunker claims in Singapore

09 Aug 2017 09:04 GMT

Bunker firms due in court on Thursday.

Marine fuels specialists Praxis Energy Agents and Glander International Bunkering are due in court this week after filing separate admiralty bunker claims in Singapore.

The Praxis claim is against the owner of the 2010-built, Liberia-flagged bulk carrier Americana. According to vessel-tracking data, the 91,941-deadweight-tonne (dwt) vessel has been laid up in Singapore since June 29.

Glander International Bunkering, meanwhile, has made a bunker claim against the owner and/or demise charterer of the Marshall Islands-flagged oil/chemical tanker Captain Silver. Built in 2008, the 9,220-dwt vessel has been anchored in Singapore since arriving from Malaysia on June 25.

A pre-trial conference for each case is due to be held on August 10.

Praxis is being represented by Oon & Bazul LLP lawyers Kelly Yap Ming Kwang and Kelly Toh, whilst Resource Law LLC's Bernard Yee and Alvin Ong are handling the case on behalf of Glander International Bunkering.

Both defendants are unrepresented, according to court documents.

Senior Assistant Registrar Edwin San Ong Kyar has been assigned both cases.
