Glander Intl Bunkering's Guyson Kang - 'one of its leading traders' - moves to Dubai

20 Jul 2017 05:38 GMT

Firm says Dubai team will benefit from Kang's expertise in Asian ports.

Glander International Bunkering (GIB) announced on Thursday that trader Guyson Kang has moved to its office in Dubai.

Described by the company as "one of its leading Bunker and Lubricant Traders", Kang joined the Singapore office more than a year ago.

Prior to joining GIB, Kang had worked in the maritime industry for more than three years. He speaks English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Teochew, and has a degree in marketing from Murdoch University.

During his time at the Asian city-state with his current employer, GIB says Kang "has proven himself to be extremely adaptable and has brought an unfaltering determination to the office every day; a truly energic team player".

CEO Carsten Ladekjaer highlighted the "regional expertise" that Kang will bring to the Dubai office, adding: "While our office is bursting with niche skills and specialisations, it is together that our knowledge transfers across the globe, leaving no port untouched."

"The move will prove advantageous for the Glander International Bunkering group in terms of shared knowledge, with the Dubai team especially benefiting from Guyson's expertise within Asian ports. Moreover, Guyson's Asia Pacific clients will be better assisted with regional supply requirements in the UAE, Mediterranean and Black Sea," GIB said.

The bunker firm also noted that Kang's move to Dubai was "a primary example of the group's mobility programme, which allows employees to gain international experience and bring an integrated approach to practices as a result".
