TOS Bunkering posts jump in H1 sales as Novo container and grain volumes grow

18 Jul 2017 08:43 GMT

Bunker sales rose 138 percent between January and June, year-on-year.

Russia's OOO DeloPorts - owner of Delo Group's TOS Bunkering Company (TOS), NUTEP container terminal and KSK grain terminal in Novorossiysk - reports that bunker sales in Novorossiysk skyrocketed during the first half of 2017 compared to last year.

Between January and June, TOS saw marine fuel volumes jump 18,000 tonnes, or 138 percent, to 31,000 tonnes year-on-year.

Second-quarter bunker sales were 17,000 tonnes - 21.4 percent higher than the 14,000 tonnes sold during the first three months of the year.

At the start of June, DeloPorts also launched a ship agency service in the port of Novorossiysk.

Deloports' terminals posted a 32 percent increase in turnover during the first half of 2017, year-on-year, with a combined cargo throughput of 3.5 million tonnes. This was said to be due to "container market recovery and growth of grain volumes".

In November, Bunker Index reported that TOS had signed an agreement with Dutch shipbuilder Damen for the construction and delivery of four tug boats.

According to the agreement, three vessels are to be delivered during the third quarter of 2017 and one in 2018.
