As previously reported, Singapore posted record bunker sales for the first half of the year this week; however, to find the port's best sales figure for any six-month period, we would need to go back to last year.

Between March and August 2016, Singapore managed to sell more than 4 million tonnes in every month; it is the only time in the port's history that this feat has been achieved over a six-month period.

As a result, Singapore sold 25,025,600 tonnes in the six months between March and August 2016, and the figure still remains a record today - 10 sales months later.

It is also the only six-month period where more than 25 million tonnes have been sold.

The graph accompanying this article shows the rolling six-month trend between January 2016 and June 2017. For the last three rolling periods (November-April, December-May and January-June), Singapore posted sales of 24,950,900 tonnes, 24,989,300 tonnes and 24,920,700 tonnes respectively. After March-August 2016, they are the Asian port's best three six-month rolling periods.
