Bomin starts physical supply operation in Buenos Aires, Zona Comun

06 Jan 2017 18:10 GMT

Bunker firm is using the double-hulled Deltamar IV to carry out deliveries.

Bunker firm Bomin Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG confirmed on Friday that it has this week commenced physical supply operations in Buenos Aires and Zona Comun.

The supplier is utilizing the Argentina-flagged, double-hulled oil tanker B/T Deltamar IV to carry out deliveries.

The Deltamar IV has eight storage tanks and a total capacity (at 98 percent) of 1,213 cubic metres. Its six fuel oil tanks are able to store up to 1,007 cubic metres, whilst the two marine gas oil (MGO) tanks can hold up to 206 cubic metres.

Bomin's supply vessel has a gross tonnage (grt) of 435 tons and a net tonnage (nt) of 306 tons. It is able to load a three-product combination of 380 centistoke (cSt), 180 cSt and MGO.

Hinting, it would seem, at the possibility of other supply locations in the future, Bomin indicated in an email that its coverage in Buenos Aires and Zona Comun was "the first stage".

Earlier this week, Bunker Index reported that bunkering activities have resumed at the inland ports of San Lorenzo and Rosario for the first time in two-and-a-half years. Refiner Oil Combustibles S.A., which operates a plant in San Lorenzo, has begun to make product available for the bunker market again. Local firm Risler S.A. is currently offering low-sulphur 380 cSt with a maximum sulphur content of 1 percent, and DMA-specification MGO with a maximum sulphur concentration of 0.2 percent.
