Chemoil International Pte Ltd has been named the port of
Singapore's leading bunker supplier by volume in 2015, according to data released by the Maritime and Port Authority (MPA).
The result means that
BP Singapore Pte Ltd has finally been dethroned as the top supplier at the world's leading bunker port, having retained the position of leading seller for 12 consecutive years.
Chemoil's rise to the top of the volume sold list follows the company's drop to 16th place in 2014, having been ranked 9th, 5th and 6th in 2013, 2012 and 2011 respectively.
Third in the 2015 list was
Sentek Marine & Trading Pte Ltd, a company that has featured in the top 3 since 2012.
Also making up the top 5 were
Transocean Oil Pte Ltd, down one position on the previous year, and
ExxonMobil Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, which rose three positions to 5th.
Companies to rise up the list into the top 10 were Equatorial Marine Fuel Management Services Pte Ltd, from 17th to 9th, and Panoil Petroleum Pte Ltd, achieving 10th position after having been 13th in 2014.
Companies to fall out of the top 10 were Tankoil Marine Services Pte Ltd, SK Energy International Pte Ltd and Singapore Petroleum Company Ltd. Tankoil Marine Services, which was listed 6th in 2014, had its bunker supplier and bunker craft operator licences cancelled in February 2015 due to
'discrepancies and wrongful declarations' in the records kept on board its vessels. Meanwhile, SK Energy recorded the biggest decline amongst last year's top 5 companies, falling 12 places from 4th to 16th. Singapore Petroleum dropped one place from 10th to 11th.
Companies rising into the top 20 last year having failed to make the list in 2014 were Seven Seas Oil Trading Pte Ltd, up 10 places to 13th; Wired Bunkering Pte Ltd, 8 positions higher at 17th; and Total Marine Fuels Pte Ltd, up 2 to 19th.
In addition to Tankoil Marine Services, the now-defunct company O.W. Bunker Far East (S) Pte Ltd no longer appeared in the list of Singapore suppliers. Costank (S) Pte Ltd also dropped out of the top 20, falling 9 places to 21st in the list.
