Sea Star Line lowers bunker surcharge

Jacksonville-based firm says the changes will be effective from September 9.

Sea Star Line LLC - a U.S. shipping agent headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida - has announced that it will be adjusting its bunker fuel surcharge for trades to and from Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Puerto Rico:

To/From Jacksonville Present Effective Sep 9
20' containers $250 $212
40/45' containers $500 $426
48/53' containers $638 $542
Automobiles $100 $86
Breakbulk cargo (per 2,000 lbs) $75 $75
Other self-propelled/towable units $212 $180


U.S. Virgin Islands:

To/From Jacksonville Present Effective Sep 9

40/45' containers $500 $426
48/53' containers $638 $542
Automobiles $100 $86
Other self-propelled/towable units $212 $180
To/From San Juan & Virgin Is. Present Effective Sep 9

The changes are due to become effective on Sunday, September 6.

"We will continue to closely monitor bunker price trends and will adjust accordingly," the company said.
