New barge supplier at Santa Panagia Roads

10 Mar 2014 13:44 GMT

Bunker firm is granted permission to supply tankers working cargo at the ISAB Impianti Sud Refinery.

Italian bunker supplier Maxcom Bunker S.p.A has announced that, with immediate effect, it is able to carry out deliveries at Santa Panagia Roads for tankers working cargo at the ISAB Impianti Sud Refinery - a 320,000-barrel-per-day (16 million tonnes per annum) facility located approximately 14 kilometres from Augusta in south-east Sicily.

Speaking to Bunker Index, bunker trader Alberto Pampaloni, explained that this is a new development for the company as it previously did not have permission to use its barges and supply infrastructure in Augusta to carry out deliveries at Santa Panagia.

Now that Maxcom has been granted permission, the company says that it is now able to supply a maximum combined amount of 550 metric tonnes (intermediate fuel oil and MGO) to each vessel, sourcing 380 centistoke (cSt) and marine gasoil (MGO) product from Augusta.

The service is available to tankers working at the ISAB Impianti Sud Refinery. Bunker deliveries can be made either before or after cargo operations.

Maxcom said that no additional calling costs would apply, adding that deliveries would be required to begin during daylight and that no supply operations would take place on Sundays.

In November 2013, Maxcom announced that had started to supply 380 centistoke (cSt) at the port of La Spezia.

In August, the company said that it was able to carry out deliveries by barge at the port of Catania. The company is supplying high sulphur 380 cSt and 0.1 sulphur marine gasoil (MGO), also using product sourced from its depot in Augusta.
